IMO those categories suck :) who the phuck listenens to breakbeat? and i highly doubt that most of the neowin community is "into": Blues, Jazz, Alternative, Emo. Yea maybe listen to it but not "into". I guess US is all about Rock and HipHop =\

Maybe you should mention R'n'B, Reggae, Eurodance, Other, House/Trance/Techno, Rap instead :)

anyways i'm into Rap & House

If it is intelligent, genuinely emotional (excluding the easiest of emotions to express in music, sexual passion and anger), creative, and/or not overly-repetitive, I will probably like it. This already rules out most popular Techno, most Drum & Bass, most Rap or Hip-Hop (same sh-t..."one is for girls, one is for boys" ), etc, etc... ;) (Don't get all upset b/c someone is seemingly bashing most "artists" in a genre who don't understand complex art; I just don't like repetitive hollering over a 7 second sampled loop with a few pauses here and there for 3-12 minutes...I'll stop...)

*edit* oh, I almost forgot...tone the damn guitars down in music, future (or current) producers, mixers, etc...!!! (Also, electronica is not always dance...)

Since when?!

Well, I guess you could dance to some of the experimental slower stuff out there. Let's see, all I can think of right now is Lamb, and that is a bad example depending on your tastes, and quite a bit of Aphex Twin... But, like I said, it depends on what a person deems as danceable, I guess. :)

I like all music, but the genre' is dependent upon my mood. If I'm happy I'll listen to something upbeat. If I'm stressed and need to wind down then I'll listen to classical.

I dont class dance and music thats danceable lol. Out of those options i would class Aphex Twin as dance, even though its electronica....

Classic Rock (stuff like zeppelin, doors, sabbath)

Grunge

Some Metal (BLS, Pantera, Coal Chamber, Damageplan :) )

Industrial/electronic (Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Thrill kill kult, hanzel und gretyl :p, Aphex Twin)

Don't like rap, emo, or really anything that gets any airplay on mtv.
