i have a friend who's intersted in buying my Dell 700m for $800.

here's the specs for it:

1.8 Centrino

512 SDRAM

CD/DVD Burner

60 Gigs HD

Is it really worth selling it and spending a few more hundred for a new 12" powerbook?

Definately! I've been a Windows user for about 13 years or so and I just bought myself a PowerBook. One of the best buys I've ever made!

I've also been a Windows user for around the same amount of time and I have to agree, best computer I've bought hands down (12" 1.5 GHz PowerBook).

go to a ford dealership and ask them if you should buy a ford ?

my point is you should ask the same question in a Windows forum as well.

That won't do anything. It will just give him the opposite answer of 'No, of course not. Keep the PC.'

Wait till the Intel Powerbooks come out. The 12inch Powerbooks haven't been updated in a REALLY long time, so they are definitely due for one (in addition to the Intel switch).

But with that said, you probably can get more money for your current laptop now than waiting, so if that's an issue jump right in to the Apple world now.

The PowerBooks were just updated. Only slightly with the 12" (bigger HD and a better battery, includes SuperDrive).

Yes, I think it is definitely worth it.

What do you use your laptop for? Any gaming, if so, what games.

Cheers,

Okay, well if I were you I would get ahold of a 12" Powerbook. Make sure you like the size, etc and you like that and the operating system, try out the games. Make sure that your games run how you like them to do..

Although Macs and great, it's pretty subjective when it comes to gaming...

id say stay with the pc. unless you got a desktop to play round with, the switch will be hard to pick up.

i'd keep the pc, becuase many things i run/i need for my Uni are only capable of running on windows, not on Mac..

most univerisities cater to both operating systems;

make sure you enjoy 1024x768 in the 12" screen... i am assuming you have an sxga screen in your 700m ... thats the only thing i do not like about the apple's small notebooks

i'm running at 1280x800 resolution on my 700m. on apple's last update of the powerbook, i know they really haven't done much to the display of the 12"...but is the screen any brighter...or anything? this makes me wanna do the 15"...however...there's a big $ difference between the two.

I think it's still the same screen. Battery life has improved by 30 minutes or 1 hour... or something. They didn't do much with 12" besides throwing in the free SuperDrive and 80GB HD now, up from 60.
