Borbus
At one time I could do about 50 but now i'm fat so less than 10 (not that I ever would).
Wado
I find that very hard to believe the fittest guy I know, a marine seal, can only do 15 one handed. I can do about 500 pushups in a day and i can only do about five per side. 586794918 I know an ex-seal who could do far more than me. For an one-handed pushup technique is more important than pure strength, if your technique is even slightly incorrect the pushup becomes very difficult. Physical size is a factor as well, it is much harder for a large man to do a one-handed pushup as opposed to a smaller man. I'm 5' 8" 170 lbs. and seem to be a perfect size for it. I started doing them out of necessity. I'm a 3rd degree black belt in Wado Ryu karate. I seriouly screwed up my left arm sparring a long time ago and started the one-handers so I could keep working out while the arm healed. I couldn't even do one at first but I kept at it. After I healed I kept doing them and eventually started working the left arm that way as well. Edited November 11, 2005 by Wado
Kerm
Alot. Had a race a few weeks ago with some peeps and managed around 45 in a minute. Very hard.
Hani
More than 40. 45-50 usually, but if it was a bet or testing my power (like someone who posted) i can reach up to 70-
ev0|
most of you guys saying more than 40 are such liars. 40 in 2 minutes is the marine standard. You're telling me that all the geeks on neowin aged like 15+ are marine buff dudes ? I dont' think so.
Scudworth
for my kungfu belt test, i had to do as many pushups i could in 30 sec. i did 54. i think i could have done more too. 586794785 Pff, doing them like that is sloppy. People tend to throw their weight when they are going for X number in X time-frame. Do them slowwww, let it burn. That being said, I really shouldn't talk. I havent really done a workout since my teacher had to close the school about 6 months ago. I just tried some push-ups and I only managed 47 medium-speed ones. :s

Amazing. You should video tape it so I can put it up on my site as motivation for me and my friends.

Now I just play with myself and pretend it's about the same.

I should probably be able to do 50-60+ in that timeframe, but I am out of shape. That must be their minimum. Hell, for the army up here I would only have to be able to do 20 or so to pass the initial physical.. samriley
40 marine standard?! im not convinced about that. 40 in 2 mins really is very easy, i can get to about 45 in about 50 seconds. can only do about 5 more after that but still 40 in 2 mins does seem awfully low.
