Webcam sharing

Question

I recently re-installed my USB webcam in xp, thus it has poped up in my network connections box and has its own IP, is it possible to share the cam over the network and how, this cam is in the front room of my house, while the other pc is in the backroom and it would be very handy to keep a track on the kids :)

i didn't know they did that. :ponder:

you could always use a 3rd party app. i never thought it was possible to directly access the camera, but i could be wrong.

I know that the D-Link wireless webcam, you just type in the IP in the address bar and it loads a page with the video in it :)

i had no idea. well you would think if the cam had an address, there has to be some way to connect to it. anything in the documentation?

wow. i never realized that. I have a Logitech Pro 3000, and I have an IP of 4.0.1.0 for mine. Maybe this is for Micro$oft's spying techniques :D

from the MS page:

"Status

This behavior is by design."

lol, umm, riiiight. why would this be by design? they know they just messed up and they are trying to sound like they did it on purpose :p
