nWo4100
I wanted to know if I can overclock my Visiontek Geforce 2 MX400 64Mb (w/ThermalTake Blue Orb fan)? Also, if I can overclock, how high can I go and should I overclock, does it really boost the performance?? Anyone here ever overclock there GF2 MX400 64Mb??? How did it go, what program did you use?? Any information would be helpful, I thank you.:)

jbarcus81
Ok... Don't make fun of me... I'm learning as I go.. But I'm stumped... Looky here... How should I overclock and how do I get it to apply the clock settings and KEEP them and not have to re-apply at start up? My settings just aren't working or something... Those are my default settings.
Joswin
You click ?allow frequency adjustments? and move the sliders up slowly and click ?Test Settings? and if the PC don?t crash, run 3Dmark and see if its stable (and how much improvement you have gotten out of it). You just keep pushing the sliders up higher and higher until the PC crashes or you start to see strange glitches in games (in which case you clock down until it goes away and is stable again). There is an option there ?apply settings on start-up? which you can tick once you have settings that work ok and you are happy to leave at (handy to have some temp monitoring software just t:)check too). :)
jbarcus81
Well see what happens is when I check that box to apply on start up... It resets everytime untill I restart.. and then... When Windows loads my screen flashes and goes to the OC'd settings BUT my graphics are sticky and glitchy... I test settings and all that and it's fine.. I want to permonantly over clock this thing.. Can I do this easily?
mparter
I've got a GeForce 2 MX400 aswell and am also having trouble o/c the thing  I've tried adjusting the settings from the same dialog box as shown in the graphics above but am having no joy! I've checked the 'Allow clock frequency adjustments' box and restarted my machine, OK so far. But as soon as I adjust the memory speed and test it the display is all distorted and unreadable. I've even had to restart my machine using the switch on the case as I couldn't shut down Windows. Not getting anywhere with this overclocking lark. hinrik15
I have a GF2 MX400 and I've been playing a bit around with it. I use NVmax to o/c. I use a formula to find out how high I should o/c the core clock accordingly to the memory clock. First you divide the core clock freq. with the memory clock (in my case: 200/334=0,5988024) you will use this number to find out what clock freq. u should use if the memory clock is X, this is how: move the memory slider up a few MHz and see if your pc crashes or makes your display fuzzy, if it's stable than multiply the memory clock freq. with the outcome of the formula you calculated before like so: X*0,5988024=the core clock freq. u should use...simple :old: I don't know if this helps but it works for me and the display is much more stable when I use this method of o/c
mparter
Why does my display panel not show the default values for the core and the memory clock speed? However, when I begin to move the Core Clock Frequency slider about it does show the correct values but the Memory Clock Frequency only starts at 0 and ends at 100 :s Any ideas?
