JiveMasterT
like someone said before, it's a cotton based paper material. thats why when you leave your wallet in your pocket and it goes through the wash, your money isn't destroyed. Zoiks
Why would you need to pay for $1.99? Its just rounded to $2 if they have it like that, normally it would just be marked $2 or $1.95 tho. Also we have had a limited edition run of $5 coins in Australia.
revvo
Here's an excerpt fom Wikipedia: The exact composition of bank notes are confidential for obvious reasons. And I doubt you'll find even the basic composition anywhere. You'll find it in North Korea. North Korea is renown for making the best U.S countefeit bills, so-called "Superdollar". Professionals have to look at them for hours before confirming that it's a fake. Then again, whoever goes there never gets to escape and gets to eat 1 potato a day :alien:

Jelly2003
You don't have 1c coins??? That's insane. How do you pay for penny sweets? Or all the stuff that costs 1.99? 1c and 2c coins were phased out over 10 years ago. Things are rounded to the nearest 5c, I actually like it better like that because I seriously CAN NOT stand small change. I find 5c coins annoying at the best of times, so you can imagine how I feel about 1c and 2c coins. $4.95 = $4.95 $4.96 = $4.95 $4.97 = $4.95 $4.98 = $5.00 $4.99 = $5.00 $5.00 = $5.00 Most things are priced to the nearest 5c, the main place that you find things marked in non 5c increments is big discount stores, etc. If you pay by card (either credit or Eftpos) then you pay the exact amount, no rounding occurs. I was recently reminded of this hate when I was in Malaysia and I had heaps of 1 Ringgit notes in my wallet. 1 Ringgit isn't worth anything anyhow, its so pointless. Cvrt7.62Ghst
I find the US dollar bills to look extremly esy to forge. They have no watermark as far as I can tell, no holograms, multi-coloured ink patterns, UV reacting thingimi, or cotton strip like the UK notes do. It's a dollar bill... Who pray tell is going to go to the effort of forging one dollar bills? Please tell me how you are going to make a return on the investment in printing. :|
