Latley I've been seeing all kinds of people asking for opinions on some of the most foolish questions. Most of these are from people who can't seem to value thier own opinions and need someone to decide for them.

A few examples include:

Help me decide on a table name!

can't decide between longhorn or xp

Trying To Decide On A Web Browser

Help me decide which game to buy

There are tons more of kids who can't seem to think for themselves. Now, I'm all for asking for advice on certain topics but most of these questions are just wasting space.

So, my question is, does the internet make people lose control of thier own independent thinking?

Well think people ask more for a "review" by other members as opposed to their own indecisons! It's often good idea to find out WHY you should buy X and not Y is it not ?

I don't imagine you buy a new GFX Card without reading a review... So think of it as a review :D

OMFG YES..

Just look around in these forums.

Its as if the internet has totally destroyed all common sense....

The quality of the forums has totally gone downhill. You've got people making useless posts just to up post count, like that thread about how many USB devices you have and connected. I mean common, why the hell would you want to know that.

Why are you asking US? Seems like -someone- doesn't value their own opinion on the matter..?:pp
Is it ok if I use a poll asking people how I should answer your question?
Erm... I'm not sure

What do you think??:shifty:y:

I really need anothers opinion on those posts.

Thi:):) or this:laugh:h:

Then Neowin needs to take it back uphill and remove the post count status. It's a meaningless stat, especially when a "lol" or "LMAO" counts as much as a well thought out paragraph.

Remove the useless post count and the level of intelligent posts and/or replies will increase.

I was thinking "hell no", and then I read the OP and .... yes. Definitly yes.

Yeah post count is pretty useless IMO. Some sites have reputation points but those are easily abused.

I agree the post count is useless crap. You have the post count ###### who post the dumbest crap just to get 1 little stupid point added.

Then they want to celebrate everytime they hit another 100 or 1,000 posts added to their count. If you're here a lot and you actually post stuff worth posting and help people out when they need help, cool. If you try to post in every thread on here just for the count then seriously get lost. Everyone on here knows who those people are.

That's debatable....I don't think people rely on other people's opinions on the internet...bec come on! Noone ever takes people's questions seriously, so they're never sincere in their answer...Like"Just kick his ass!". In reality, you just can't do something like that!

So these questions are just meant to help a person in his decision (Once he sees the answer he's looking for [even if all others are against it], he'll probably do it). But in the end , its your decission.

However, 70% of the people in forums don't have enough friends to ask these questions, so maybe they have grown indecisive over time..so they resorted to the internet....I'm going to abstain!
