Good E-mail program

Question

I'm wondering what alternatives I have as e-mail programs. I want something simple, reliable, fast and easy to organise e-mails with. I would prefer something which does not process javascript and html nor should it open or at least have an option not to open attachments automatically.

I've tried and don't like for a number of reasons: Mozilla Mail, OE, The Bat, Pegasus, Eudora, Kauman e-mail and PC-Pine.

The Kaufman and Pine32 are among my favorites. Kaufman seems to crash for no apparent reason and hasn't been updated for a long time. Pine32 is too hard to configure and slow when receiving many e-mails. My ISPs SMTP server also needs authentication which I can't figure out how to do in Pine. I like the interface in it, however.

What other options do I really have? I've searched all over the place and can't find another program of my liking.

Personally, I prefer Pine in Linux, which is why I tried PC-Pine but I don't want to store everything in Linux Pine for the moment. Anyone have a suggestion? I'll try all the suggestions I'm given until I'm happy with a program.

yeah, that is its killer feature.. but the translation from chinese isnt the best so there some annoying things about. also, its has automatic greetings and closing added to your emails that are kinda cheezy and i couldnt find where to get rid of them, so i gave up and and uninstalled ;) :D i'm trying out pocomail right now. its pretty nice :)

Really? I searched for email and e-mail in the subject of the all the posts in the forum and couldn't find anything. Tried it again this morning in case I missed something and in fact there is one now: mine. So unless people have been putting e-mail or email in the subject line I can't be bothered wasting my time searching for it in the bodies. Unless of course something is wrong with the search function.

I'm going to try express plus this weekend. It looks nice. I'd never heard of it before and I've searched Tucows, download.com and google for alternatives.

I'd also tried Popcorn but I found it a bit flakey. If not I guess I'll have to use Pine in Linux. If only I can figure out how to get SMTP authentication though.
