I believe that the word is 'grammar' not 'grammer'. And English is always capitalized.

There are alot more faults in that statement too, but I really don't want to point ALL of them out. ;)

*Sirens* This is the Reality Police, Step Away from the Computer! I repeat, Step Away from the Computer. This is your last chance at Reality :D

This doesn't even make any sense whatsoever. And you never abbreviate regular words, only names.

"George said "BRB", and Joe said "WTF", but George never came back, he was drunk ROFL until he woke up realizing that it was all a dream, screaming WIBAMU (found it while searching :D)."

If anyone used an internet abbreviation in a paper, they'd only have two excuses in my mind, one, they're on crack, or two, they're in kindergarten.

There is something called "Proper english, grammer and spelling", if you cant stay along those lines then you may need to consider going into more english classes or maybe read more books and articles.

Just think about it this way... let's not talk about essay... let's see something simpler in real life -- your voicemail. If you use lol and all those internet abbreviations in real life, this might be how your voicemail sounds:

"Sorry, I'm afk but I'll brb, lol, leave me a msg including ur asl and I will send you a /w asap :-)"

although I don't exactly know how you are to say ":-)"

me and my friend say "STFU Noob!" all the time, but only in IT circles where its understood, its like a secret code.

I have a shirt that says '31337' about 1 in 7 get it an laugh, the rest think its a prison number....oddly enough those same people say I look good in the shirt.

LOL and other words like this should NOT be allowed in School work

I had no need to write lol or other words when I had to write something @ school.

Just like [NFC]Wave said:  learn to write icon13.gif

But in places like NW or TF I shall speak like b4

If U can't hold real life and internet off of eachother then U should hang yourself :pinch:

I don't have the electricity to type "no" as often as I'd like to.

And anyone who actually talks (as in speaks) like that deserves a punch to the face. One kid in my networking class last semester (the one everyone wanted to punch anyway) actually said pwned and we took turns kicking him in the shins. The teacher seriously looked like he wanted to join us.

Then we hooked someone else's mouse and keyboard up to his PC so we could F with him some more.

While where at it do you think it would be advantageous to allow kids to write complete essays in 'l337'? Or how about if they could include: rofl, lmao, lmfao....or you know the 1,000,002 other variations? If your going to let one version of slang in you might as well open the floodgates for every other misspelled misused word out there...however next time I am writing an essay for my advanced mathematics teacher I?ll be sure to drop 'lol' and see what he think;);)

We spaniards use LOL within the Internet too. It's a curious thing because LOL is difinitely not spanish :p

When we talk to english-speaking-people we do use LOL a lot, of course.

I remember when I was going to England, one of my friends told me "And remember: when you're talking to someone, don't say LOL. People there actually laugh"

:p

Hadn't he told me that, I would have pronounced "LOL" for sure, hehe.
