BrianWolk
I recently came across an old PAL-BG TV tuner card (LifeView brand), and I was wondering if there is any way to get it to work on my North American system (NTSC in Canada). Even if I can't get the TV feature working, would it still be possible to use it as an RCA video-in to capture video from an external source like a VCR? The card has S-Video as well as RCA video in the back. Another concern I have about installing this card is hardware or power issues - would it even be safe to install this card in a North American system? mick0142
i don't know about the ntsc vs. PAL, and i doubt it... however... you should definatly be able to use the line in function for it, as long as you have the correct drivers/software
=NickJ=
1) You can use the external inputs as they dont work on a tuner-aerial basis 2) Playing NTSC material on a PaL TV produces a Black-and-white picture, not sure about the reverse.
username
it just has to do with the FPS, i can imagine it will work becasue PAL is just 25fps vs 29.97 on ntfs, so you may just miss a few frames. Also slight difference in resolution. If it just pics up the analog signal, i should record it in pal fine, then again, i have never done this before edit: if its a PCI card it will work fine in any computer regardless of location
