DeAd-EyE
Instead of just waiting for a PS3 (will ps3 even have progressive scan dvd abilities) or a DVD/HDDVD player to hit the market, i was looking at this player called the Oppo. It looks like its rather high tech and has all sorts of doodads and upscales to 1080i, plays DivX, DVD and dvd audio. Its a big improvement over my many year old, non prog scan basic panasonic dvd player. I know some of you on this forum have bought them, can you please post your thoughts and comments vis a vis the unit. (the unit will probably be connected to my DLP via HDMI or component). bangbang023 Veteran Posted November 20, 2005 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2005 If you want upconversion, you'll need to use HDMI. As for the unit itself, I haven't read much about it. Check google I guess. The specs seem really good, but reviews can be just as handy.

HDMI only it seems 586832627[/snapback] Well, you could get an hdmi -> dvi adapter, but DVI tech on TV's is almost dead. HDMI is simply a better solution.
