Ive tried pretty much every drug out there. I was really adventurous in that department when I was younger. Thing is, I leaned my lesson, but I dont regret it. Being part of that scene gave me a unique insight into a world most people are quick to stereotype.

For example, say there was a lead singer of a band. He didnt drink, but before he went onstage for a show, he had a pint to calm himself. Now thats not a problem. Hes not an alcoholic. That's ignored and forgotten about 5 minutes later.

Now, say that same person, didnt normally do drugs, but had a line before he went on stage. All of a sudden hes this big, murderous drug feind, hanging around school gates selling crack to kids, the scum of the earth. This is hardly the case.

Even while I was involved in that scene, my opinion was, and still is kinda different to most peoples. I think man made chemical drugs, such as coke, speed, and E should have a crack down. Even while taking these, I still thought the same. These drugs can be cut by dealers that want to make a few extra $ with god knows what found under your kitchen sink. This can kill far too easily.

Then again, saying that, I think common soapbar should be cracked down on, its not even real hash. Its cut with all sorts of crap, boot polish the lot. And how many times have you been crumbling away and found a f*ck*ng peice of plastic in it. It should be taken off the streets

Natural things, such as weed and mushrooms, should definatly be legal. Weed is a plant, mother nature taken off the streets.should NOT be illegal. It can't be cut with crap by unscrupulous people who dont give a sh1t. That, plus it was recently publicised that there has not been one case of death by cannsbis overdose. Can you say the same for alcohol?

How about this scenario. Theres a group of 10 guys in a room drinking. 10 guys in another room smoking weed. Where is the fights going to break out? Where is the higher chance someone is going to come out injured? On the other hand, where is it that people are going to be found chilling out, having a good time? These tyrannical facists that complain about it are just after something that can make them seem 'good' in the public eye.

This year, possession of Magic Mushrooms was banned in all forms in the UK. Why? So Labour could be seen to be doing something about the 'drugs problem' and get re-elected, and this was famously publicised in a national newspaper. Magic mushrooms have no proof that theyre linked to psychosis or any of these other crap excuses people use to try and defend themselves. It does, however, have many proven good side effects, like being able to releive even the most intense headaches/migranes etc.

Alcohol is far, far more dangerous than either cannabis or mushrooms. How often are we warned that alcohol will damage our liver, and killing brain cells. Just look at George Best. He practically drank himself to death. How many of us have been out on a friday or saturday night, to be greeted by fights and violence. Then at the end of the night, people collapsed on the floor vomiting or urinating everywhere. Alcohol also provides a situation that a girl (or even a guys) drink can be spiked and lead to rape.

As you can tell, I feel very passionate about the subject. I think its complete crap that relativly safe, natural things are illegal, and things like alcohol arnt. But like I said, I think they should go even harder on chemical dealers. Needless to say, thanks to our wonderful government, i dont touch anything anymore, its just not worth it now. We're being stitched up.

WORD!

marijuana - pot is not an addictive drug. It's chemical structure makes no use of dopamines which cause many other drugs' addictions. So to repeat, pot is not addictive due to its chemistry and its affects on the brain.

I drink Beer (3 or 4 times a week, about 8 or 9 pints each time). - never addicted

I have smoked. - never addicted

I have tried pot. - never addicted

After my holiday, I could quite easily get addicted to Mountain Dew Pitch Black II, Altoids Wintergreen (or any wintergreen sweet/gum), Altoids Liquorice. I wont get addicted to them, as in the UK I know of only 2 shops to get them and they cost:

Mountain Dew - ?1.10($1.93) per 330ml can - in US it was $1.49(?0.84) per 500ml bottle

Altoids - ?3.50($6.14) per 50g tin - in US it was $1.99(?1.13) per tin (I think).

And Beef Je:yes:yes:

The main think that ****es me off is that Altoids are made in the UK but not sold here.

When I was 16, I was addicted to Lockets. Got through about 6 packs a day.

This poll needs to be editted. With the exception of weed, the next most commonly taken drug is Ecstacy. Following that you have K and Coke (depending on where your from, lots of K in Bristol, whereas in London with all the city boys Coke is preferred). Then theres mushrooms as well. Add more options!

(in answer to the poll, i've done all of the above)

Did a lot of stuff from my early teens till now. Im 34 now.

In chronological order, Cannabis, LSD, Speed, Amyl Nitrate, Ecstacy, Coke, Crack, Heroin.

Although I didnt know it at the time I only got addicted to Speed. Did Ecstacy for many years (big mistake). Wish I could afford to get addicted to Crack (so, so nice) :shiftyninja:, didnt like Heroin.

Only thing I do now is Nicotine, Caffeine, Alcohol and a gram or two of coke maybe twice a year.

True.

Just like to thank my missus for putting up with me through all the bad times.

i drink on occassion, once a week maybe, same with pot. did shrooms few times and won't do it again for quite some time. last time i did them two of my good buddies lost their minds for good 4 hours. while it was fun to watch, "what would happen if i killed myself now" isn't such a funny thing to say.

Hmmm, my friend.

I took many pills from maybe 91-95, slowed down after that, last pill probably about four years ago.

Im guessing your in your early 20s and clubbin' every weekend. I dont want to take anything away from you. The old raves were the best days of my life and always will be, you know what I mean ;)

The fact that your asking how they affected me psychologically, I think you already know the answer.

Best advice I could give, with hindsight is MODERATION.

:)

I heard this song the other day, it makes sense "Green Velvet - La, La Land" try and find it and give it a listen.

:)

FYI...E is really quite bad. I did a senior research paper on it. It royally messes with your body. I guess it's a sign your moderation though that you're still around and still functioning

Always nice to chat to someone who actually knows whatthey're talking about ;) Wish i'd been around for the 90s house revolution

Im 21 and co-own a sound system in Bristol so yeh i'm out raving a fair amount. I've found switching from pills to MDMA help a huge amount, the lack of speed in MDMA means i can eat and sleep a whole lot earlier and easier than before. But for a day or two after I do feel a bit down in the dumps, one of my friends who's stopped now said that all her friends had to be on anti-depressants after stopping. I think its the reason K is so rife in the clubbing community in Bristol, the long-term effects of it are so far less damaging.
