Tungsten T
If you bothered to check, WindowBlinds 5 actually does the rendering via the GPU. The program uses the wblind.dll file instead of the Uxtheme.dll library bundled with XP, which makes the system much faster than the system currenly in XP. I have noticed that applications tend to be more responsive, and don't tear as often, and yet the screen is filled with more eye candy. On the note of Vista, I'll be getting it for the features that make it easier to find your files, increased security out of the box, and for the new rendering engine, which looks stunning. It's not the wblind.dll file that makes it fast, it's hyperpaint, the thing thats stores the window borders as textures in the Vram
Fred Derf Veteran Posted December 7, 2005 Veteran Share Posted December 7, 2005 It will be the first mainstream 64bit version of Windows. Windows XP x64 Professional is a bit of a niche product with limited driver support. Basically, a stop-gap until Vista.

Leddy
I will get for free, I?m beta tester:)) You might not. It's not guaranteed that you will. The Windows Server 2003 beta participants nearly two years ago didn't get a free copy. Oh, and I'm getting Vista from MSDN subscription.
