mcb
i have a gf4 ti4200, and the highest rez i can go to is 1600x1200. i remember at some point i was able to go much higher, like to 1900something or even 2000xsomething, but that was with my TNT2 and older drivers. i'm currently using the 30.30's and also tried the latest officials, 29.42 this makes no sense to me..i mean, i have much newer drivers, and a 10x better video card..it's not like my monitor can't support the higher resolutions because ive seen them.. can somebody help me? Hawkeye
Just to get a simple thing out of the way, your monitor is bigger than 19 inches, right? I believe 19-inch monitors can only go up to 1600 ? 1200. Just for reference, 17-inch monitors only go up to 1280 ? 960 and 15-inch monitors only go up to 1024 ? 768. Killa-b
it depends some 17's can only do 1200 while others can do 1600. more expensive monitors can do better rez at higher refreshrates. ex:my Sony G400 does 1800x1444 32bpp max at 65hz. it all depends, try going to advanced->adapter->list all mdoes, and select one there. thancock
Right I may have a solution for you "mcb" Check out http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/datoteke/ResChanger.zip Small res. changer program... it even allows for "manual" resoultions! Theres 3 things that hold you back from your "real" top res... your monitor, your video card and your OS... most older CRTs will go alot higher than that fool suggested earlier and as you said yourself your monitor can manage higher. As for your video card... well we'll just assume that its not hardware limited somehow and assume that it can go higher. SO that leaves Windows... I reckon Windows is holding you back from your max res and this proggie might just "fix" that ;) I don't know who the author is but heres his web page http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/
kuruptnation
Well just to let you know, I dont know if this will help though. But I just installed the other day Nvidia 30.82 drivers and all of a sudden I have ALOT more Resolutions in my control panel. But Im sure your monitor will have to support them first. But give that a try if you still havent gotten it working yet.
