OSX in WinXP

Question

Hey, does anyone know where I can find something along the lines of an OSX emulator that I can use in XP Pro, if one exists? I've been searching for weeks now and this strikes me as the type of thing you'll find on Joe Schmoe's site that isn't listed in a search engine. If Warez isn't a dirty word in the forum that's acceptable as well. Thanks!

I don't know if there is an emulator or not, but there are plenty of other ways to make you system look like OSX. (this has been asked before)

Just do a search in the forums and you should find your answers.

oh btw (warez is a dirty word here) ;) and welcome to neowin.

I don't want to make my desktop look like OSX, I want to be able to run Mac programs on my PC. Specifically the audio/visual editing programs. The software isn't an issue, but getting the environment that will run them is. That's why I'm looking for an emulator-esque program.

And thanks for the warning and welcome!

That is not possible as it would require a currently non-existing PowerPC emulator.

There is no such thing. The best thing you can do is buy a mac. Basillisk II can run up to MacOS 8.1 but that's it.

Welcome to Neowin.:)

There is nothing out there than will allow you to run OS X on a Windows machine. The only Mac emulator that I know of is for OS 8 I think. I think Neyo did it a while ago.

Even if you somehow find an emulator... you won't be able to run video editing tools at decent speeds... if that's what u really want buy an apple - or use one of hundreds of Windows video editing tools.

Well see, I only want to use Final Cut Pro, and I don't want to spend that kind of cash on an Apple just for one program. The speed really isn't an issue, I can let it sit and render for an hour or two at a time, I really don't care. And I haven't had good luck in finding a Windows a/v editor that will let me do as much as Final Cut does. If you have any suggestions as to Win programs I'd appreciate those. Also, does the latest Final Cut run on anything lower than OSX? I've been told it runs on OS9 also, so that might widen my search criteria as far as finding a Mac emulator.

Well like I said an emulator would probably be too slow to run the program at decent enough speeds to even work with the video... let alone render it. As for PC programs... there's the great Adobe Preimer + After Effects. That's what I use... (it can even apply Quicktime effects). There are a lot more programs.. do a search on google.

Do you already own this program? Did you pirate it?

Cuz this thing seems rather expensive.. in comparison purchasing a cheap Mac should be nothing!

there are currently NO mac emulators that will run above OS 8.0.

8.1 - 10.2 require a power pc processor.. this hasn't been emulated yet..

if you really want to run FinalCut Pro.. you need to get a mac..

Sell your PC.. get a mac.. and look into either SoftWindows. VirtualPC, or Wine for X....

windows runs better on a mac, than a mac will ever run on windows...

oh yes, how wonderful. a really new thread, seems like theres never been a thread liek that. actually i replied to threads like this for 10 times this month. some ppl just dont get it. windows is for pc, macos(x) for macs. basilik can do os8, not even 9 or x. and i dont care bout vpc on mac since an emulated OS is slow as **** and instable. so uh, stop posting dumb threads.
