IE6 and size of window when it opens

Question

For some reason, when I click on a link that opens in a new browser window, it comes up in a little tiny window that only shows the close, min, and resize buttons! It is getting very annoying! I am using IE6 in Win XP. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there a key in the registry?

Try this

when you get that small window close the original window (the larger window). Once that window is closed resize the small one. When you are done with that close it.

See if that works.

Here is what u can do:

1. Open IE and resize it/maximize it.

2. File - Save the page to anywhere on ur harddisk (u can delete it later).

3. Close IE.

4. Open IE again to see if the new window size has taken effect.

That is exactly what I just tried, and it fixed it! Thank you! Is there any way to make all new IE windows come up fully maximized though?

Open your first browser, right click on a link and click on ( Open Link In New Window ) Now close the first window you opened. Right click on your taskbar and click on ( Tile Windows Horizontally ) Now all your windows should open maximized.

:)

Right-click on the IE short-cut and where it says 'Run' select maximized

The "Tile Windows Horizontally" fix really doesn't cause it to open maximized - it will open as large as possible, but not maximized (if you hit the maximize button, the slight border around the window will disappear.)

Also, the shortcut option will only be an option if you have a shortcut on your desktop, and if you launch IE from there (in the case of opening a new browser window from a link, this does not occur.) Also, in Windows 2000, XP etc. the IE link on the desktop is a direct link, and not a shortcut.

I'm actually trying to figure this one out as well - it annoys me to have it always opening "non-maximized." There has to be a place to set this in the registry...
