revvo
If you don't know what I'm talking about, just google it and you'll have loads of info. Vague question but it's tricky to be specific about something that only has rumors spreading about it. What do you think about them?

//////////
LOL. I am a Freemason, and I can assure you that we neither rule the world or any country, nor are we trying to do so. Sometimes we can barely organize a bake sale, much less take over the world. We are normal citizens belonging to the worlds oldest fraternity. Simple as that. How you choose to interpret said fraternity is entirely up to you.

Mr. Golden Deal
Their are a few different Masonic societies (Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, for example) and they're obviously real, but for the most part it's just sort of a gentlemen's club. My one friend's dad is a Freemason and they I can't say I've ever heard of them doing something sinister.
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted February 5, 2006 Subscriber² Share Posted February 5, 2006 They freemasons is a real organisation, and yes - many influential people are "members". However, it is because such people see the value in an organisation that helps communities at both the local and global level. There is no sinister agenda. That's left to the girl guides... Get off it! 2 years old, 1 year old, few months old. But I will say one thing in your behalf. They seem to turn out a good group of people. Look at the founding fathers of the US... many of them were freemasons.
ninjagowoowoo
hmm who cares? (not to be harsh or anything) if they truely do secretly run the country, do you think neowin can do something about it? Maybe we should start a neowin fraternity and try to take over their rule! We will run the country with our 1337 computer sk!11z :shiftyninja:

Mr. Golden Deal
How about you lay off the crack? (Oh, by the way, the poll is totally retarded. How the hell are they a "Stonecutters-like cult"? Why is "they worship Satan" even an option? Even a cursory examination of their beliefs is enough to know that they don't. Even Satanists don't worship Satan.) jlmodell
after reading angels and demons/ da vinci code / national treasure, i was enthralled in secret society stuff lol, skull and bones/ stonemasons. but of course, i wouldnt put much stock in either being true to their stories, but they are a fun to read about, if thats your sort of thing. +LogicalApex MVC Posted February 11, 2006 MVC Share Posted February 11, 2006 I'm not a freemason, but I have known and still know quite a few freemasons and it dosen't seem to be a sick cult like the conspiracy theorists play it out to be. I was even invited to possibly obtain membership, but I was a bit younger than and baught into some of the conspiracy hipe so I turned it down. It is just a fraternity like any other fraternity...
