Just wanted to know how often people use the run box (start / run or windows key + R (best method) )

I use it all day long, whether its to load applications or just browse to a directory, screw browsing through folders. Just type the folder you want in the run box.

All the time and I'm starting to consider using linux on my main computer.

I usually use the run box just to launch cmd - and I do all the rest in the cmd windows.

Commands I use:

cd\

cd...

dir

copy

dir >textfile.txt

ping - love the ping in linux specially the ping with audible when the connection goes down.

tracert

\\computer name

notepad

winrar

nero

But than again I use Total Commander and usually browse with cd.. / cd\ and dir.. it's faster than mouse or scroll.

Just love the command line. Not that I hate the point and click device, it has it's uses.

I have an address bar in my taskbar, so I use that more often that the actual run box. 99% of the time it acts the same. Sometimes it trys going on the internet to search for the program though. :s

I use it a lot on my Windows box I use at work.

I even have Win+R mapped to call up a 'run' box on my Linux PC at home. (and, yes, Win+L is mapped to start and lock my PC with a screensaver on Linux, too)

So, on either platform, this is a frequently-used feature for me.
