Where is AOL lite version?

Question

Ive always been one of those people who hates AOL, and I still do, but finally I decided I needed an @aol.com account because people were already just assuming that was my email, causing me to miss many emails.

There was a lite version of AOL, not from AOL itself I dont think, but it was much better. It was just a smaller program that allowed you to chat and get email and maybe a few other things but it was basically waaaay scaled down. Ive been searching for things such as AOL Lite but have had no luck. I wish I had kept the URL of the site.

Someone must have seen it around somewhere....if anyone could point me to it I would be really happy. Thanks

back on topic.. here's what i suggest.. search google.com for an AOL dun (dial up networking connection).

use that connection, use outlook express for email, and use AIM for chat..

i did contact AOL and they said they knew what I was talking about but couldnt give it to me because they dont make it.

As for the AOL dun idea....for now im just using enetbot which lets you use an AOL email through OE and trillian for my IMs. Probably just gonna keep it like that unless someone has a better idea.

either way i still have my DSL. I would never use AOL as my sole connection in a million years...
