3.2 Ghz P4??

Help!! A new p4 where i work is getting detected in bios as a 3.2 Ghz instead of a 2.2 ...tried new bios clearing bios swapping p4's i believe it to be something with the mobo but idk what plz help!

nah already switched with another 2.2 chip and it was detected as a 3.2 as well while in another machine it was 2.2 so i know its not that (how i wished it were tho)

idk some pos intel with crap bios....im a jr at my highschool and thats where i work....we got like 70 of these new 2.2s and this is the only one giving me a problem

oh theres win98 on there and i got wcpuid or somethin like that and its running at 2.2 id just like to know y bios is reading it incorrectly

its not a 3.2GHz, the FSB is only readin 400MHz,

anything after 2.4GHz is all 533FSB.

GET A BIOS UPDATE, OR CONTACT THE BOARD MANUFACTURER AND TELL THEM THEY HAVE A BUG IN THEIR BOARD.

already tried the bios update and nothing....should have a new mobo for it tomorrow ill let u guys know what they say the problem is

heh that jus makes no sense, why would a school need 2.2Ghz P4's?, like for ex. my friends school is gettin 2Ghz copms at his school but most are for the libary so wtf? Heh o well I know my school is gettin sum P4's but not 2Ghz or more, prolly 1.8

yea and get this theyve got 80GB hard drives in them....and we use this program deepfreeze which makes it impossible to write to the disk unless ur authorized and have a pw...so at most well be using 3GB

I wouldn't worry about the BIOS reporting it as 3.2 GHz. As long as WCPUID says it's running at 2.2 GHz and 100 FSB, you're fine. You might wanna take a look at the CPU temps just to be safe though.
