i know my mobo is compatible with bootable cd

first you need a BOOTABLE CD-ROM disc, then second you control bootable cd roms from your BIOS by setting the boot sequence

Any CD-ROM drive is bootable, I have one from 1991 and it is bootable in my old computer. You can capture the bios picture using VMWare, Phoenix Bios is evil :s

if this were my situation, i'd do some basic troubleshooting

go to another computer. try to boot to the cd from there.

if it works then you know your cd is bootable and the problem is with the drive.

likewise, find a cd that is verified to be bootable and try it in your cd drive. if it works, then you know the problem is with your disc and not the drive.

let us know how it turns out :)

i am thinking that one of the jumpers on either of the CD-ROMs are not set right (in DOS is where it really matters) and thats whats causing the problem

physically take the cd to a different computer with a different cdrom and see if it will boot there.
