Night Prowler
If your worried about having access to illegal files then you better cut your connection to the internet and do a fresh install of your system. There is absolutly nothing wrong with using Bit Torrent programs. Sounds like your a bit young and immature at this point and afraid the cybercops are coming to get you. Hey all... my brother installed a program called BIT TORRENT onto my computer.... i have already kicked his ass... but i just wanna know i have fully unistalled the program... he used it... but i have deleted all dowloading files... i just wanna know if by him using this program could it have harmed my pc apart from the usual adware & spyware... can it hook me up to any dialers or anything? Thanks guy
IK47
He installed a BT client, and you became upset with him? It sounds like your brother is smarter than you. Jokes aside, Bittorrent technology is one of the best things to happen to our culture. It can be used to quickly obtain Large Files such as computer software, videos, console games, and of course music. Although it is free to use Bittorrent, It it illegal to use copywritten code without a license.

Slimy
Bittorent is a perfectly legal program. It can be used to download both legal and illegal files.
MaX Velocity
I think sweeping you system with Adware or spybot should do the trick If your worried about having access to illegal files then you better cut your connection to the internet and do a fresh install of your system. There is absolutly nothing wrong with using Bit Torrent programs. Sounds like your a bit young and immature at this point and afraid the cybercops are coming to get you. errm I think doing a clean install is a bit over the top, I mean it's not bundled with adware or spyware. (unless your bro. downloaded some!) nor do the British :p Ah well whatcha gonna do! :D

Snakehn
He didn't know about how bittorrent works so he was worried, the software in not ilegal, but is sad to know that 90% of people use it for ilegal purposes, it may include his brother, that's why he punished him. the worst part of this, is that he came to this board for help, and people reply with crap and insults.. come on, leave him alone. I think what people are tryng to say here is that there nothing illegal about torrent programs. it is only illegal to download copyrighted works (in most jurisdictions at least). having a torrent client is like walking around a store with candybar. It is only becomes theft if you leave the store property without paying. while you are in the store , you can put it in your pocket, or anywhere else out of view, and it isn't illegal. If you don't feel comfortable with it on your computer, set your brother up with a non-administrative account, and install the microsoft shared computer toolkit -c
