spike232 Posted August 1, 2002 Share Posted August 1, 2002 i just got a linksys BEFSR41 router and so far its been on all day, and it is really hot, my cable modem is warm to the touch but nothing like this. is this what its ment to be like?? do u turn them off when ur not using them?? appletalking Posted August 2, 2002 Share Posted August 2, 2002 I used to have a cable modem that would get darn near scalding to the touch after being on and active for a couple of days, but it never caused any problems. I would just take care that it doesn't get really hot (e.g. hot enough to start to melt the plastic). If anything starts going wrong with it, then you should of course call Linksys and complain, but until then I wouldn't worry. I wouldn't turn it off, though, unless you enjoy switching it back on everytime you want net access. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
