Heatsink Mounting Bracket

i forget how it happend, i think i was trying to pull the heatsink off but it wouldnt really come out so i pulled it a little and it just broke

No, its not the white part, its the black part around the socket

oh, i got you, huh, i know you could try sending the board back to the manufacture for repair, have not seen those for sail anywhere though, is it still secure without it?

Yea i think you're out a motherboard. The socket is wired for all the pins so its not like you could just replace the socket or part of it.

the guy said it wasnt the socket, its the plastic piece the P4 motherboard have around the socket to fit the large heatsinks

its not the socket its that stupid plastic thing you connect the clip of the heasink to.. the black thing that's screwed on to your motherboard around the socket

anyways chris u can try the seller and also contact Intel about it, maybe u can show us a pic of it, or them when you ask for Support so they know exactly what your talking about :)
