Disable Onboard Video

Recommended Posts

I have a Via Mobo with a AC97 sound card onboard and a Savage 3d onboard too.

I bought a Geforce card ( agp ).

I turned off my pc. opened the case put the agp card, connected and nothing, so i thought that maybe i need to disable the video card.

in bios i found the disable the lan onboard, audio but not the video.

What do i have to do ?

thanks !

what OS you running?? if its a version of windows 98 or above, you can do 2 things, first of witch is to disable the vid card (in windows) or second, you could leave the card in the system (the new card) and plug the moniter into the on board and when windows boots, goto in display properties and select the display adapter you want to use as default. you are given this option because 98 and above support dual display.

TS

edit: forgot to mention that after you select the new vid card, unplug the moniter from the on board vid and plug it into the new card. good luck
