JustGeorge
They don't come every year, but I sure do get sick mass sporting events like the Olympics and Wimbledon hogging good TV time for days on end. Not everyone cares about this stuff and I wish they would leave this garbage to sports only channels :/

DreadBoat89
it happens every 2 years (olymipics iteself). i cant wait! if you dont follow or like sports... just dont watch. its not like they are on evey single channel... :p its only on the big networks that manage to get the deal worked out. here in canada its on the cbc (nothing really to watch except hockey night in canada) and some other sport networks (if they are lucky) you will only see 1 or 2 networks broadcasting it... not a big thing to fuss over... AJerman
Team Canada's gonna get the gold in hockey...again....sweet. They'd do a lot better if they had the leading goal scorer in the NHL actually on the starting squad  . Anyway, we'll see :shifty: Oh yeah, and of course I'll be watching the Olympics. If you guys can't get over not watching something for a few days, you need serious help. I can't believe how much TV some people watch. I walk into my grandparents house and the TV is always on, they literally sit in their chairs and watch TV all day long unless they are out doing something. Dinner is eaten in front of the TV, everything is done sitting in that little room with the TV on all day long. As a result, they are very overweight now. I honestly don't get how anyone can watch that much TV. I watch maybe one program a day, if that sometimes. There are almost no TV shows I watch on a regular basis, mainly because I never remember to watch them (except 24 and Family Guy, those are probably the only two, and I forget those half the time and end up downloading them). So yeah, I think you'll all survive a little while with alternate programming on. Hell, being that it's the olympics it might even motivate some people to get up off their ass and do some soft of physical activity. I know watching all the hockey is going to make me want to go play. Edited December 29, 2005 by Betaz

cork1958
You're asking on a tech forum? I'm suprised anyone voted Yes :p Heck yeah!! I voted yes also. Not to much into the summer Olympics, but I like the winter ones. Makes me wish I learned to ski, or bobsled or something like that, as I look out my window at the 6 ft. of snow!! Hate this time of year with a passion though.
Ambience
Man, you Yanks and Poms are soo weird. Winter olympics over Summer? I don't think you'll find anyone in Australia who's gonna agree with you :p. I mean, there's so much more diversity in the Summer olympics isn't there (Swimming, Soccer, Hockey, Basketball, Tennis, Rowing, Archery, Shooting, Boxing, Athletics, Rugby 7's, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Gymnastics, Table Tennis etc.)? Maybe it's just the ice-hockey fans or something.
