ahodes1
I intend to build my first PC here soon and I have some questions. First, I have installed CD drives, memory, PCI and AGP devices and whatnot, but I've never installed a processor. Are there any specific things I should know? Second, are the prices for these items decent (from Pricewatch) and has anyone had a problem with any companies listed on PriceWatch? Also am I being stupid and missing anything important? Any other comments and suggestions appriciated. Intrabyte
even a generic 400W power supply doesn't cost that. probably refurbed =/ IF your getting a gf2mx, you will regret it dude! you better get something beef now and not spend anything on video for a whiled! xpablo
Proccessor is pretty Straight forward, just make sure you put the "Grease' on properly, I suggest you get a boxed proccessor instead of an OEM, just for warranty issues. I'm sure if you do a search on google you'll find lots of sites with tips. good luck !
nWo4100
For the first time buyer like you, it would be to your advantage to build your PC at Ncix . With their Pc Builder you can't go wrong and you can't get screwed. They have a 3 year Warranty with complete system. I recommend that you buy there. You won't forget stuff and/or buy cheap no name products.
trashpickinman
I heard somewhere it costs $28 for parts to make a 300w power supply. if someone is selling a 400w for $18 i'd be wary.
ahodes1
There's a bunch of 400W power supplies for that price on Pricewatch but they are all generic/house brand- so should I go for a name brand certified one?
