choppy audio when playing audio from cd in winamp

Question

have any other seen this before? this happens to me for every one of the cd i play in, if i play an mp3 from the computer, it works fine, but not if i play audio from a cd, then it gets very jumpy, like it was lots of scratches on it. I am looking for a good software that can play back a audio from a computer good, it sounds good, any help please would be helpful.

Most likely you are using an older CD drive and it is unable to play digital audio. Go to Device Manager and check the properties of your CD drives. If the CD Digital Playback is selected, then deselect it and reboot. Everything should work alright then as long as you have a cable going from your CD drive to the soundcard's CD input.

Playing Digital Audio straight from the CD is something that is fairly new and in the past most inexpensive CD drives had troubles reading the digital info properly without seeking too much. You really won't notice that much of a difference unless you have a really good set of speakers. If you get any of the newer cd burners or dvd drives they will have no problems with the digital playing.
