Cooling advice

Recommended Posts

I currently have an Athlon Thunderbird 1.33GHz, these little guys run quite hot. At the moment my current setup runs at about late 50's ?C, sometimes over 60 when under strain. So I'm looking for a heatsink and fan combo that will run my current Athlon cooler just now and also support the newer Athlons like the XP2100+ which I will be upgrading to soon.

Thanks

yeah, those things do get a little toasty. but as yahoka said, get one of the newer thermaltakes. i'm gonna get one soon. working on getting a new vid card, and i'm gonna get a new case soon (asking for one for my b-day), and then i'll buy a new fan. but mine usually stays in between 40 and 50 Celsius.

I second that. volcano 7+ supports up to Athlonxp 2600+, has fan speed switcher, sensors... its a great looking hsf too :p

same thing with the volcano 9, up to xp2600+, full fan speed of only 4800 so not too noisy comparing to the 7+ and has same stuffs (sensors, speed switch, ect.)

check em out at their site, or just go in google and search for reviews.
