YahoKa
Does anyone know the specs of the AMD stock fans? Are they any good at all ... even without overclocking?

Baigley
Hey. I have an XP1900. The stock fan should do just fine for regular use. But i have a little box fan blowing on the whole case just to help out, with all the HDD and stuff. With the box fan and stock cooler it runs 43?c If i turn off the fan, it gets around high 50's. I have the computer turn off at 70?c but it has never reached that. Im going to be getting a volcano 9 very soon.. It puts out about 75.7cfm. I will let ya know how that goes. YahoKa
Is the stock fan loud? I don't know if i should get an OEM with volcano 7, or retail with fan. It's almost the same price so ...
Baigley
Its not really THAT loud.. If your worried about noise, then you shouldnt get an Athlon.. ;) I would go ahead and get the Volcano 7.. Just because the stock fan that comes with cpu's generally is just enough to get by.. (in my opinion) The volcano 7 puts out around 45cfm. Like i said before the Volcano 9 puts out around 75cfm. Big Difference, if your not worried about noise, go with the volcano 9. Otherwise get a watercooled P4. :s
Chris123NT
I actually just build a machine for someone today and i went with an OEM Athlon XP 1600+ and a volcano 7 heatsink. His case has pretty poor ventallation and the cpu got up to a max load temp of 46 C :)
