mcb Posted August 4, 2002 Share Posted August 4, 2002 everything i read tells me to enable DMA mode by going to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers>Primary IDE Channel (same for Secondary)>Properties>Advanced Settings>DMA if Available yet i dont even have this Advanced tab my hard drive should have this feature, its not that old.. gjmartin Posted August 4, 2002 Share Posted August 4, 2002 It could be because of your motherboard, mines Intel and it doesn't display those tabs. If yours is the same run the Intel App Accelerator and it should tell you what DMA mode you are running. Or you might not have the right drivers installed for your hardware. You can also find out what mode you are running in when you boot up your PC by look at the configuration screen after the POST. Hope this helped.
