Stone Gaijin
Day 1 - hung Over - Happy New Year. Day 2 - Withdrawl: I feel like clawing my skin off, some sweats, some dizziness, mostly I just feel like I'm insane, gripping onto some sort of notion that this is all worth it. I stuck on a 21mg patch 2 hours ago, because yesterday (Day 1 - hung over) was simply that, hung over and no need for a smoke, so I felt it was easy, YAY!, that day one was pretty smooth. Until I couldn't sleep much last night, on and off. Well, 40 dollars later I have 2 weeks of fake smokes, 2 weeks of nicotine that is pumped into my bloodstream and causes psycho reactions, and insane thoughts, I wonder if Lee Harvy Oswald was quitting smoking at the time? anyway, gotta run, my hair itches, not my head, my hair. Day 3 - Feeling Better Today is much better, I'm even drinking my favorite Tea, and feel wonderful this morning.
brotherrabbit
I quit just like that. No dependancies, or feelings of withdrawl, considering myself lucky I suppose.
KitCh
Good on you fella. I hope for your sake that you don't give into the cravings. Keep it up my man
Stone Gaijin
despite your wisdom and excellent success on this matter, the only "success" I have had, be it for 2 months, or 8 months (my longest) has been using some sort of quitting assistance. The patch simply makes me crazy for a week or two, then I'm fine. After 6 weeks of the program, I am off the patch as well. I will continue to use the patch during the program's length. Either way I refuse to die of Cancer at my own hand, and I refuse to allow my children to think I will as well, this is for them, more than myself. Thanks for the support! Stone Gaijin
Keep at it Stone! You can do it! Another assistance tool, is a shirt I just ordered, had it custom made, just for me. As many of you know my fondness for odd slogan shirts, I made the following below, based on the fact that my Grandmother died of not only throat Cancer, but cirrhosis of the liver, as well as many other self-inflicted problems. The largest factor being smoking, with alcohol being a second. The night she died, she got up from her bed at a hospital/group home, walked outside to smoke a cigarette, and walked back in, fell asleep and never awoke. I love that woman, but I will never be her. ian
hehe, it has been 4 days since I also quit smoking :) I'm trying without any help from chemicals or medicines this time and it seems to be working. Probably because I am thinking about this for some time, don't know. (Btw, started when I was 16. I'm 31).
