You made me feel a bit guilty lol. I smoke the odd cigarette in pubs or whatever, not enough to get addicted luckily, I don't think I'd get addicted anyway not involuntarily.

I remember saying that once,

Be careful, before you know it, you need them.

Well with plenty of more water and non fat foods. All nicotine will be flushed out of the system. I do congradulate you. I on the other hand had poor results. Job Environment where all employees smoke. People would say quite I'd laugh and say you got 2 loans over you head and a mortage to pay off.

None the less have some will power and get away from the stressful, angry, and annoying people they will drive ya to smoking again. Its that type of people where all they do around ya is suck the living energy out of you.

congrats...

Wish I could offer something like "oh, I quit to! It's easy!" but I can't because I'm allergic to cig smoke and I want to kill people smoking outside of malls and so forth... and girls who smoke are extremely unattractive to me...

Anyhow, I know how withdrawl feels... I used to be hooked on caffeine hardcore, then one day I quit cold turkey. I got the most insane headaches and stuff and I noticed the only thing that seemed to curb them was to drink insane amounts of water. I was clean... no caffeinated drinks for 6 months, then I started with the diet coke and coffee again. What can I say? I love the taste of both and to get them in the decaf versions suck!

So, I'd say next time you feel the urge to smoke a cig, go drink a glass of water. Water is good for you so I can't see the bad in that!!!

I don't consider myself allergic to smoke, but I keep gagging each time I'm near cigarette smoke or the exhaust from vehicles. Wonder if they have small portable air filters in the market.

Day 4,

Doing good this morning, trying some coffee, a nice mellow roast, hopefully it won't spark a need to accompany it with a cigarette.

freakin' Death Stick

I can breathe so much deeper and feel good walking around downtown to my office, it's such a good feeling to actually have only bad morning breath, before you brush, instead of that combined with horrible ash, cigarette breath.

I feel very good this morning.

Well done to the topic starter. I used to smoke gang and normal then gave up both. I dont even think about it much now.

I have put on a cra* load of weight though :(

Time to loose it all now though.

I used to smoke a pack a day when i was 16, and quit when i met a girl who i fell in love with. No withdrawl symtpoms whatsoever, just quit just like that. havent looked back ever since and im 20, never even touched a ***!

Yes, this was the same reason i gave up and after 4 years of smoking since 19 i have done it and it wasnt that hard... and i didnt even use patches etc! :D

Glad to see people trying to kick this habbit. It was the major cause of my fathers death almost 8 years ago. He smoked almost 3 packs a day of unfiltered camels and started when he was 9 years old.... It took my brother and I almost 1 year to convince my mom to quit but she did and has been free for almost 7 years... gotta love fresh air...

So does cigarette smoke bring you out in a rash or something? Or does it have the same affect on you as everyone else...?

Bet you hate bonfires and firework night as well as open fires in the house. Does it include smoked fish or smoked cheese? :o

Why do you even bother trying? No one ever really quits; you love cigarattes man, admit it.

With friends like you im sure he will be able to give up easily. I have given up for 5 months now and hardily give them a thought... so yes, you can give up.

Perhaps you are a smoker and have tried and failed to give up in the past? If so, then this is only your issue, not everyone finds it that hard.

I forgot to say before that my mother who smoked for 45 years quit 11 months ago so if she can do it after all that time you can too

Good example mate, and thumbs up to your mother.

I applaud your efforts my friend! I've had multiple family members fall at the use of tabacco products (smokes, chew, etc..) and I am grateful to those who actively attempt to remove themselves from the control of those items.

Keep going, never give up, and soon you will be past all of this mess!

I don't gag... I sneeze....

So does cigarette smoke bring you out in a rash or something? Or does it have the same affect on you as everyone else...?

Nope, no rash, I just sneeze a lot and my eyes tear up.... I technically could smoke cigarettes if I'm on my allergy meds or I am nice and liquored up :D

I really only have allergy trouble during the spring... the rest of the year I'm fine, but cigarette smoke definately makes me sneeze and makes my eyes tear up if I'm around it too much. It has to be like heavy in your face smoke though. I can go to bars and poolhalls where there is lots of indoor smoking and manage, but my nose gets a little runny. No big deal... claratin helps.

Congrats. The first 72 hours are supposed to be the hardest.

Keep at it and good luck.

First 72 were the easyest for me. The following 2 weeks were the hardest. Then after that 17 or 18 days

I just thought of it less and less.

TILL NOWW!!!!
