david_ Share Posted January 5, 2006 i wanna buy a digital camera but i just have this question on the differences between these two models. (Canon PowerShot SD550 and Powershot S2 IS) Besides the obvious 5 vs 7 megapixel and size difference, is there any other factors that make one camera more 'professional' than the other? in your opinion, which of these would you rather have? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...19&sku=A0521529 http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/Product...6056&brandid=
Andy07 Share Posted January 5, 2006 I would go for the second one with the optical zoom with image stabilizer... very good for outdoor work.
Dallas Share Posted January 5, 2006 I would rather have the s2 IS because it has much better zoon and image stabalizer. I would guess the s2 would also have better picture quality because it has a larger sensor (im pretty sure it does)
Lan88 Share Posted January 6, 2006 my vote for the S2. worth the money and you can add more stuff to it if you plan to use it in the long run.
Pink Floyd Veteran Share Posted January 6, 2006 5 vs 7MP will not m ake the difference at all unless you do some huge picture The S2 gets my vote too between the 2 because of the zoom and also the image stabilisator
neochou Share Posted January 12, 2006 i would prefer Powershot S2 IS, more professional.
jono123 Share Posted January 14, 2006 It depends what you want it for... the SD550 has the resolution and is compact, which is what i like. I have taken photos on this camera and I really liked it. The powershot S2 has 5MP, which is still good and has a very good optical zoom. The camera is quite bulky though...
