0 lexor
I'm thinking about installing this one, but guys is there a way to remove it if something goes wrong? I can't seem to find any uninstall function for current version, so how about it?
0 TeeBall_Mark
System Restore if you REALLY want WMP 8.0 back, but after seeing THIS new WMP9, I'm sticking with it til the final. This HAS to be what the public is in store for when MS releases the public beta Sept 4th. And Duh, of course WMP needs to be excuted&in full mode before it goes into taskbar mode. You think you can just open it and it automatically goes to taskbar?? Don't think so. lol. But least now we have the option of turning this feature on&off. But to turn it off would be pure stupidity. lol L8R
0 TeeBall_Mark
almost forgot to ask..........can this version of WMP be installed on ANY operating system, or JUST WinXP or 2K?? Need some input here......
0 Deron Dantzler
ah it's just peeps don't wanna restart :) 1. restart 2. right click start go to toolbars choose wmp 3. open wmp 4. start a file 5. minimize wmp walla
0 lexor
well I guess my last/main question is can the future version be installed up ontop the beta? I know that in case of Windows itself it is a mortal sin to install a final ontop of beta, format is an optimal way to go. I realize that WMP9 is not Windows, but still did you guys have any probs updating from last beta to this on?
0 kaffra
No restart needed for me, all thats needed is to minimise windows media player then right click on taskbar - select toolbars - windows media player. edit spelling :)

0 Jish
Does this version have the ability to rollback/downgrade to WMP8, without having to restore/reinstall windows? I would hate to install this thing and get stuck with it if something bad happens.
0 Roger H. Veteran Posted August 6, 2002 Veteran Share Posted August 6, 2002 Originally posted by nomis_nehc not sure what you mean, lol, windows media player always played VCD's... :D well maybe it plays it default now... before you had to drag the DAT file (which is a MPG renamed) to WMP for it to play. Maybe just putting in a VCD now starts up WMP. I haven't tried it yet but who knows...

This is meant as an upgrade to what you already have and MS wants everyone to use it so sooner they'll get the idea of using the latest software. 0 Nix
This is really nice. Brought my old live sound card to life. Have it install on win2k with sp3 and no problems except no taskbar option. Installed on winxp pro no service pack and taskbar works fine. No need for reboot. This is my new player of choice. :D
