0 Lewkwarm
dudes, i just found out how to run it automatically minimized to the taskbar when you run it. first off, you gotta be able to get it to the taskbar in the first place. then goto the shortcut's properties, and in the 'run:' drop-down menu, select minimized. thats what i did, and it works like a charm

0 oDD
Everytime I tried to play a divx movie, both this version and the other WMP9 did it as well. To fix it all you need to do is rename subtitds.ax which is in your windowssystem32. Its a subtitles codec and it doesnt seem to like WMP9. We'll that worked for me anywayz :) BTW this version is absolutely awesome! and 100% stable so far. :) Good work Microsoft. I was impressed with Winamp3, but this is better! 0 whipper25
this is for messenger..but i assume it would work for any other windows component? anyone willing to try?: Apparently Microsoft didn't want you to be able to remove useless garbage like Windows Messenger. It's installed by default, and it doesn't appear in the Add/Remove Program applet in controlpanel. Thankfully, you can force the issue by editing the SYSOC.INF file, located in C:Windows [or your Windows Directory]inf folder (hidden). Open it in Notepad. Under the [Components] heading, you'll see a whole bunch off parameters for various Windows applets. Some off them contain the word "Hide". Those particular programs, which include Windows Messenger (msmsgs), Terminal Server, PinBall, and others, are installed on your XP system, but their intries are hidden from Add/Remove Dialog. To remove Windows Messenger, edit Hide out of the line that reads: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 So that it looks like this: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,7 Save the file, close it and open Add/Remove Program Applet. Click on Windows Components button and you'll see Windows Messenger listed. Unchech it and click Next to purge that Silly program from your system. 0 jjypk
Maybe its only avaliable for 2k/XP because 2k/XP has transparency support. I did manage to find "mini player" but only as a custom WMP9 skin. I would post a screenshot but I don't know of any free and good image hosting servers so I can't right now:(
0 ClintEastman
Why don't people read anymore? Not only do people re-ask the same questions over and over again, but the first time you minimized it a dialog box comes up and tells you how to get it working! I feel sorry for microsoft, it must be so hard producing cutting edge software for the general public, just getting tem to read what you are tryin to tell them. So remember, READ THE DIALOG BOXES!!:s

0 shodan
Ok... somethings weird happened... I've istalled the sp 1089, after rebooted it there were no uxtheme patched, so it went in classic mode, plus since 1073 i had a problem with shell32.dll, means that the drive icons don't display at all with the new one. Anyway, after the first reboot i tried the taskbar player for the wmp and it works!!! it works just fine.... so, when i changed the shell32 and the uxtheme (the uxtheme is the 1086 version while the shell32 is the original one) the taskbar player don't work anymore!!!
