i'm going to take a shot at building my own pc, ofcourse i'm real new at this, and i want to know what are the diffrences, advantage and disadvatage between, AMD, and Intel

mean please lets not make this a fighthing thread between AMD and intel

AMD, best bang for the buck, cooling specs are not up to par, Intel, better performance (high end only), higher cost, and has better cooling specs

by cooling specs i mean the specifications required to be a heatsink, a lot of Socket A heatsinks are not AMD certified and crappy

Overall AMD is the best and cheapest way to go. However if you are into multimedia then Intel is probably the answer. Unfortunately though Intel chips are a lot more expensive.

Generally, the Celeron is the same as the Pentium, it has usually half the cache (performance hit) and a slower front side bus (performance hit)

I wount not even consider a Celeron
