seafirex
I am only saying that as per proof was on tv liberals stole money form everyone for there own goods not for the people goods, they are suppose to be there to help us not themself. Yes i know i said no one with a brain will vote for them but that is true, it is like saying as per it is the goverment will will forgive, if we do it for them we have to do it for regular citizen also. That is the logic behind it. i should have been more clear sorry again but hey i speek like the goverment, they promis things for school, for medical, for this for that, but at the end we still pay the big price and nothing happends, except them getting more money in there pockets. Also PQ are the same and i live in the province of quebec and i wont even vote for my own party as per they do the same. That is why i said i dont vote for both. again this is my opinion and i am not saying that everyone should do the same, but when things happends all year people complains but at the end they vote again for the same loosers. what is wrong in this country. Again this is my opinion and i am not pointing anyone in this if you guys take it personal then it could mean you feel concerned and that means you are as guilty for doind it
seethru
not gonna read through it all because I don't wanna get too into it, but I thought I'd say to the OP that a vote for the Green Party, or any other, isn't a throw away vote. Quite frankly, I don't want to see any of the major parties with a majority, none of them appeal to me. I voted Liberal last time, and look where that got us. I won't vote Conservative because Stephen Harper is a close minded lunatic, and I don't agree with some of the things NDP stand for, so as you can see that leaves me with very little choice. seethru
tax break? what, gst? who cares, that only affects those who spend a lot. You aren't gonna notice it all that much on small purchases. I'd rather an income tax break, instead of this half assed attempt.
seafirex
i understand seethru sometimes rage make us say things look at me i started to reply and there i am all mad about my goverment, but i made the choice last time and that is why i can only blame myself for what they did. No one likes bush, yet they keep voting him into office. Liberals are ****ing scam artists! Well the economy is going pretty good, so I think people don't want to mess with that. It's easy to forgive a scandal like that when you have more money in your pocket than ever. That said, I wouldn't even bother voting (no one worth voting for) if not for Dr. Keith Martin. He's a really good guy and actually gives *gasp* a straight answer to questions.
Matrix XII
Conservatives of COURSE! Why would anybody, and I mean anybody vote for Liberal. They are dirty slimebags and by voting them in again you are condoning what they have done! Please do not vote for those bastards, I hate them with everything in me. Miran
but again Miran in the U.S they are very more moron then us as per we dont vote for people that starts war , then go there to do it and rape kids and womens. pfffffffff I didn't bring the US into this, so why are you? By your own argument, chances are that if the conservatives had been in power, we would be losing soldiers in Iraq right now, and would most likely have been subjected to terrorist attacks. Perhaps Harper would have gone against the US as Chretien did, but do you really think he would do that? I highly doubt it. This is what worries me about having a majority conservative party. Canada will get even closer to being an American state (not literally, of course). I also agree that the scandal was pretty bad, but government is government (I.e. AirBus). Not to mention that a government that has been caught red-handed is probably the safest government you can get in terms of repeat-scandals. And what is with all this talk about "screw the liberals, they stole our money and now I want to make them pay those bastards"? We aren't talking about your ex-wife. It is a political party, and most of those responsible for the mess aren't even in the party anymore. Get a grip and start thinking with your brain, not your heart. Napalm Frog
Voted Friday at the advanced polls (by special ballot, since I am in Ottawa right now, and don't want to be associated with it, I voted for Mississauga--Streetsville). As per my sig, I am voting Conservative. I am tightly torn between the Liberals and the Conservatives, but, other than a few perks, decided that the Conservatives would be better for me (though last time I voted Green, oddly enough. Then again, I was 18 at the time). Sure, it bugs all by uber-left-winged university friends, but, oh well. As Winston Churchill once said, "Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains." And I am apathetic to man kind, so I fit into that perfectly. Not voting. None of the candidates offer anything I want in a government. I also don't want the Liberals back in due to their prior mistakes. If you do that, please at least go to the poll centre and actually TELL them you anull your right to vote this time around. I hate it when people just don't show up. Because, you do know, that blank ballots have their won representation. Sure, it's minute, but if the politicians actually KNOW that people are ****ed off at every leader, and that there are numbers behind it (unlike not voting, where that could be a multitude of excuses), and thus hopefully for the next time try a bit harder. aristotle-dude
I'll vote for the Conservatives when hell freezes over. I'll vote for the NDP when: 1. They sever all ties with big unions accepting only private donations and from small/medium sized business. 2. They stop pushing special interests and instead vow to combat poverty, unemployment and homelessness. 3. They present a realistic economic package. 4. Vow to reform democratic institutions and allow free votes. Hmm.... I guess like be voting NDP when you vote conservative.
iconboy
hmm, very intesesting replies from all- I want to thank everyone in this thread for taking the time to post their thoughts. I know Ive asked several people in my neighborhood how they are voting and they tell me they dont want to "discuss it" :p Anyways, Someone in the thread said that instead of not voting at all if you dont want to you should go down to the polls and null your vote. I think that is a GREAT idea! :) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not let your vote goto waste by not voting at all- this is a great alternative to people that dont like any party, you are making a statement- imagine if the total number of null votes was more votes than the total people that actually voted for a party- now THAT would get peoples' attention! :) I found the comparison of the liberals to the Bush republicans to be funny and yet true to the point of being kinda scary! Think about it- Scandals they couldnt cover up, No real vision for the future of the country economy is good, but it feels like we as a whole are at a standstill and trying to be relected on a campaign of fear rather than policies. Im not trying to tear into the liberals, just very intesting. Ive talked to several friends around me, and while i was born here and so were my friends, our parents werent. And when i ask them "who are you voting for" they say Liberal. When i ask "Why?" they say.. Without the Liberals none of us would be here in the great country today. Sn4k36
I'm going with NDP this time around... An i was thinking about going with the Conservative until steve harper said he was going to cut down the GST... So hell with that. i don't wanna lose any money when votting for someone. An the Liberals can kiss my ass because they where the ones who put the taxes up to 15% in my area when rest of the country is still at 7%... An the other ones.. i don't have a damm clue who and the hell they are.
evulfun
Sorry for this little rant, but.... I'm tired of people who say "Well, there's no one to vote for, so I'm not voting". You have an option you know. It's called spoiling your ballot. Go to polling station, take your ballot and do not mark it, and put it in the box. Jeez, this way your are at least voicing your opinion that you cannot vote for any one becuase you think none of the party's can govern and you can still have the right to complain about the goverment. I feel that if you don't vote, you have no right to comment or complain because your too lazy to voice your opinion on the one day that counts. Sorry if I offend anyone. It's just annoying, after spending that last 2 years working with my candidate and hearing the same thing all the time.

I guess what they are saying, or should i say insinuating is that if the Conservatives were in power when their parents were trying to get into the country they would have cracked down on immigration and controlled how many people came in- ergo limiting how many people come in. Dont get me wrong for the most part i dont think people in the PC party are racists, but a lot of people do.
Jesse Carlton
lol no, I just happen to be in the exact same riding. I am also in the same riding and will vote liberal. I'm from st. thomas originally, and if I could I would also vote for steve peters for mpp (I'm just outside his riding, elgin-middlesex-london), he was mayor of st thomas(canada's youngest mayor at the time) for about 10 years then went on to be mpp...also my aunt dated him in high school and he's a nice guy. but yeah, liberals....ndp won't win, and harper wants to privatize everything and increase incometax for low-mid income's....were in canada, not the us...we like public health care and schools and everything else
