Sesse
Neowin would run faster if people just ignored an old thread and repressed the desire to post a reply such as: Omg this is x-years old. Do a search noob.*post an image of "history of timeline"* Yes/No ?
kernatch
Neowin would run faster if those threads weren't created in the first place

+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted January 13, 2006 Subscriber² Share Posted January 13, 2006 Neowin would run faster if this thread didn't exist. Technically it could run a LITTLE faster if I had never replied. Doh!
kernatch
i think we should all make a pact never to post just to neowin goes faster.
Sesse
i think we should all make a pact never to post just to neowin goes faster. Well, I was talking about efficiency and constructive critisism, not eternal ignorance of neowin. My, I wonder what part of their body ppl use nowadays to understand speech. kernatch
you're telling me this thread WASN'T made in jest, just like my post?
Sesse
Ehh it depends on your perspective or point of view or whatever you want to call it. The way I look at this is that there is a possibility that a few people, or dozens or hundreds will look at this thread and say "Hey, I am not gonna post useless replies anymore." So if hundreds of useless posts could be stopped by a thread I would say this thread wasnt made in "jest". The way you look at this is "Omg, one more thread among other thousands. Now neowin will run 0.1% slower for x-seconds."
kylejn
It probably wouldn't run any faster either way, but if people just stopped bumping old threads, I'd be happy. Make old threads read-only after, like, six months of inactivity.

Make old threads read-only after, like, six months of inactivity. Why? It prevents new, repeat, threads being made. I just don't see the point. Zirus
Well technically if everyone left out some letters from their post the server wouldn't have as much data to send so it would load faster. wll tchnicly if evry1 lft ot sum ltrs frm thir ost teh srvr wudnt hav mch ata to snd so it wud lod fastr. See how much space I saved?
