Recommended Posts

I am looking to buy a new Plasma TV. However i want a system which would also display PAL Signals. Here in US, most of the HDTV Sets have ATSC tuners. Now i am not sure if a ATSC Tuner can tune to a PAL Signal?

Who can englighten me? ;)

Hmm from the wikipedia

ATSC coexists with the more widely used DVB standards, and ISDB being implemented in Japan. The system includes the capability to carry PAL- and SECAM-format video (576 displayable lines, 50 fields per second) along with NTSC (480 displayable lines, 60 fields per second) and film (24 frames per second).

ATSC Wikipedia

What does it mean in plain english?
