1. Run regedit and go to: HKey_Local_MachineSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrent VersionWPAEvents, in the right pane double click on

"oobetimer" and change at least one digit of this value. This will deactivate windows. Exit regedit.

2. Choose run from start menu and type in this command: %systemroot%system32oobemsoobe.exe /a to get the activation screen.

Go to the second option which is activate by phone. Click Next.

3. In the new screen choose the option to change product key, and type in the new product key (Corporate one only). You cannot use the FCKGW key.

Do not click Update.

4. Close that window, reboot your system and enter the command in step 2 again for the second time to verify your activation , you should see "Windows

Is Already Activated".

whatever, telling people how to change their cd-key is warez,no matter how many times you put *cough* in there when telling someonw how to, theres no logical reason why you would change it unless you have a warez copy and are trying to circumvent wpa.

i can't believe a mod has posted twice in this thread and it's still open.

Why people use WAREZ?! Because they don't have money to buy original products. If windows will be cheaper i will buy the product.

That's not the point. Try telling that to the cops when they bust your door down.

J t R:

What a n00b u r. U from Micro$oft or something?

Dont start a warez flame war in a perfectly good thread. The ability to change XP serials is VERY helpful to server admins like myself who work in the industry, as Microosft doesnt tell us things like this.

Also, I belive that if u bought XP but loose the CD key, u have the right to generate another for your use. If u phone Microsoft up, then they will basicly say "Sorry, we cant do anything for you".

Jees man, grow up.

I look forward to this. Cops, you really think they only have this do to? Stopping a guy who download warez for personnal use? Come on, this is pure fiction. I never used any legit version of software since I have a pc. And, by the way, for the SP1, how can you explain I installed it on my computer using the FCK cd key?

There is something I wounder, I never saw the corporate edition sold anywhere...

You know, I have seen this method posted on other forums and have tried it myself. However, if you download a program (search for it on google) called ViewKeyXP and run it, it still shows the FCKGW.. key as your activation key after performing the above key change method. So, I am wondering if the steps posted above really change your key. Anyone know for sure?

Well i don't think that its called "viewkeyxp" google didn't return any results on that. IT must be called something else.

Well if there is a way to view your key for windows xp then there must be an easy way to change it.

If I am correct the regestry stores the key in hex. so i guess if you could find a new key then you could translate it into hex and then just simply chage the resgestry?

Doesn't that sound logical.

There must be a hex translator out there

no,i don't work for Microsoft.

if you're a server admin and don't have sense enough to not lose the most important piece of documentation that comes with your XP license then i feel pity for the company you work for, but then again anyone that is too lazy to spell "you are" probably doesn't place too high a priority on such things.

if you lose your CD-key don't blame Microsoft and don't try to use your own ineptitude as a reason to pirate software.

I will try and find the link for the XP Key Viewer, think it's on another thread somewhere, not sure where I found it.

I don't think you can just change the regestry and that's it, from what I have read, it is stored in 7 or 8 different places on your system.

I think that we can figure out this problem as long as we keep the thread going.

It sounds pretty simple to me,

That's what we are trying to figure out, how to change your corp key. The method of changing your corp key descibed earlier is in question. Does it really work?

These steps are 100% fail-proof. I used this method, with 100% success - even ViewXPKey shows the right CDKEY (not the FCK.. one)

I tried ViewKeyXP after performing the steps and it still shows the FCKGW in the ViewKeyXP program. I don't understand. I used a corp key generator and did the steps, even checked them by running the activation window again which said your key is activated successfully, blah blah.. but still the FCKGW. Any suggestions?
