New AOL 8 Beta

Recommended Posts

AOL just came out with a new beta v.4129.50

I have screenies as they have changed the icons, and login screens.

I dont have a host so if someone can host them I will send them over.

Also, they made the AOL companion transparent now.

I agree that the toolbar "looks like poo" but I think they have made the other changes to the login thing a lot better looking and the icon is better but still boring.

I prefer Dazzla's AOL icon.

Amen -- probably just a facelift with a few more features thrown into it, like Windows XP compared to Windows 2000. But how is the service? Do you get constant disconnects, or can you leave it on for 24 hours and not get disconnected?

Any new features? Last time AOL released a major version that contained a considerable amount of added feautures was back in 4.0

8.0 just looks like 4+ with a face lift. I am glad I dumped AOL 3 years ago.

Actually, this version probably has more new features than 5.0, 6.0, and 7.0 combined. Also, those who think the colors look too girlie, have no fear, AOL 8.0 will have themes, so there will be different colors to choose from.

I don't think I have been this excited about a new version of AOL in quite a few years. People will be pleasantly surprised when it goes final this fall.

well, first on all i really hate AOL i hate it hate it hate it hate it, but the new version looks HELLA SWEET. AHHH, i want it..LOL

Sure you can leave it on for a while. I was signed on to AOL for over 4 days straight a few months ago. I can stay on for oover 24 hours easily. The only time AOL will disconnect me is if I disconnect my DSL modem cable. :p
