Gaius Baltar
i see the whole topic pointless, i happen to be the devil himself so i'm screwed regardless. although personally, i don't recommend hell for winter :D p.s. _sphinx_, daisy's getting a bit sore, give her a break
AMDMEFX-55
What dose it matter anyways if no one believes in heaven. If their is no such thing as heaven or hell why dose talk of it never go away its just as easy to excuse something by saying its man made then to believe in it. Until I see absolute proof that God does not exist I will always believe.

Until I see absolute proof that God does not exist I will always believe. What bothers me... (and I know I'm going to need a flame-proof suit after saying this) ...is the enormous number of people who believe in this God, heaven and hell also think that they should bow down to this guy, because it's written in some kind of book. People say Bush and Bin Laden are evil, because they murdered so many people. How about God? I can remember reading he had this Noah guy create an Arc, and after that God flooded the world. How many innocent people died back then? God is a terrorist! I refuse to bow down to any terrorist. In fact I refuse to bow down to anyone. I'm a much better man than God. Who is he to deny me passage to heaven, because I don't believe in him? Because I curse? I've never murdered nearly the entire world population, so if God is in heaven, why shouldn't I be? Gersson
Why should I base my opinion on what some inexperienced angst filled teenager has to say? God doesn't exist because my goth girlfriend left me? I don't think so. This question will become clearer as people age. I may not know all the details but as it stands I do believe that there is something up there that has given the world its order. Free will explains all that is evil. cpu killer
Worm food dude. Logic doesn't come in to it. Just because our feeble minds can't accept true death, we create some logical fantasy that mostly helps people keep sane and behave themselves whilst alive. Some person at some point in time invented heaven, hell, and god. The truth about the earth being flat, all the gods the egyptians had, just because things make sense, and are logical, doesn't make them true. Although it doesn't make them false either. There are 1,000s of possibilites that could happen when we die. For all we know, we turn into seeds and flowers. Makes sense doesn't it, so yeah, I'll believe it. Exactly what I think. The concept of Heaven and Hell only exists because we can never imagine or try to logically explain what it would be like to cease existence (sp?). Simple as that. vincent
Ok, this isn't a question of whether or not you belive in God. Surely the undeniable number of athiests here will say they don't belive in hell, but be logical here...There must be some sort of place after we all die where we shall live again...Unless you firmly belive that our sould actually die when we do...this would be a debate of its own. TBH, I am scared like hell from hell! I'm not, because, yes, i don't believe in the concept of hell, it makes no sense whatsoever to me. the energy in my body will be returned to the earth once i have been buried. completing the never ending cycle. Blackima
Hmm, I don't really believe in hell, and apart from serial killers/ rapists, I can't imagine many people going there. Like, I don't personally know anyone who I would think would go to hell. So yeah, don't believe in hell. But even if I did believe in it, I wouldn't be afraid of going to there cause I know I wouldn't :p [EDIT] Right with you there, aristotle-dude
DeusProto
I am saved in the blood of our LORD and savior Jesus Christ and therefore am not afraid of hell, as my soul has already been redeemed for entry into heaven. It appears you have a "god complex": The problem with your logic is that God Created Heaven and its his house, therefore he has the right (and power) to deny you passage. Same concept as you denying passage of a person you don't like into your home.
gigapixels Veteran Posted January 20, 2006 Veteran Share Posted January 20, 2006 Heaven and hell are two devices created by man to make himself think that he is part of something more than just this world. Same concept as you denying passage of a person you don't like into your home. There's no problem with my logic... if I own a house on the hill, and I kill the civilians in the village down in the valley, I can be sure that someone will notice someday... and the police will come and take my out of my own house! I have no more rights to live there because I should be punished for the murders I've done. So, God murdered nearly everyone... he should be punished... taken out of the house. Now what's so complex about that? Edit: In this hypothetical story let's assume I built the house myself... just like Mr. God created Heaven. Raum
I don't believe in hell, and there is an incredibly small amount of evidence to suggest an afterlife exists at all. I do find it laughable that people think all they have to do is accept Christ as their saviour and they get into Heaven. Do yo ureally think living a life of morality has no connection to those who would enter the pearly gates and those who do not? Did God and Jesus teach all those lessons on how we are to behave for no reason? Come on now, quit kidding yourselves, it's not that easy....Christianity isn't an easy religion. Anyone here who thinks that probably isn't someone I'd even consider a Christian myself.

All it takes to get into heaven is to accept that Christ died for your sins. Heaven's probably full by now. The total number of those making up the "body" of Christ, the spirit-begotten congregation, is stated to be 144,000 persons. These, when resurrected to the heavens, are to reign with Christ as kings and priests (Rev 7:4-8; 14:1-5; 20:4,6). Unlucky dude.
Sticktron
Um, no, I'm not afraid of going to Hell, because it doesn't exist. I am afraid of dying though, because once you're gone you're gone. If people truly appreciated that fact, maybe they would treat life with more care and value.
