I've skated myself so I somewhat look at 'em while I walk by and maybe stop if he/she is doing something difficult/awesome.

I'm in no means thinking bad of 'em, might be because of my dutchness though :p we seem to accept all.

Well most of the skaters I have seen are wasting their lives, seriously I'm talking about the 20+ year old bums who do nothing apart from skating all day and leeching off their parents and smoking pot. But normal kids like 12-18 year olds who do it on the weekends after school for bit of fun relaxation Im ok with them as they are getting healthy and being active.

At my local skate park there are always heaps of fights as their is a soccer field, basketball and cricket area and inevitably a ball will fly and hit someone .Even the BMX kids and the skaters have a fight when they crash etc..Also many people even some of my friends just like harrasing skaters and fighting them and beating them up and stealing their stuff.

Glad to see you can accept me then, seeing as I'm a 19 year old bum who does nothing but smoke pot and skate all day while leeching off his parents. =)

Wheneverp eople say stuff to me it's going about 30mph in a car and yelling it so we usually can't even compherend their insult. Either way they look like idiots, and even if they did intend to fight they wouldn't stand a chance. Not that fighting is the best way to resolve something in the first place.....

There are lots of hills where I live, and it seems to make for good skateboarding. It's cool sometimes to watch them practicing and doing tricks. I'm not very good at it myself and gave up trying to be years ago.

Skaters are cool. Some of the stuff they do is just amazing, I tried skating for little less than a year and could not ollie ever. If someone was doing some skating as I'm walking down the street, I might slow down a bit to watch them if they're doing something interesting.

You know, there's a lot of hate here towards skaters. Why?

I'm a "corporate" guy. I have a nice house, nice car, good job, wear a suit etc. When I see skaters it just makes me think "Damn, that still looks fun".

Let these people do what they want - are they harassing you in any way? I think a lot of this is envy, in that these kids are doing something a lot of us either can't, or wish we had done when younger.

Raum, I'm not sure if your a luda skate nerd or not but if you are you might like SLAP magazines forums.

Bascially everyone on there knows alot about skateboarding and the industry and I also find that I hear skate related news there before most other places.

I didnt say all my friend some people I know have beten up skaters and stolen their ipods and stuff. But the bmx and basketball kids also all fight against the skaters, they are called skaties around where I live and are always involved in fights and stuff.

Like I said before I got nothing against skaters Im just aginst the loser types who have no education or job etc and just smoke pot and leech off their parents and or the government.

I used to ride a skateboard alot when I was a kid. Of course, kids are doing stuff now we only dreamed of. I don't ride skateboards anymore. I can't afford broken bones; I have a mortgage to pay.
