GregHard Posted November 6, 2001 Share Posted November 6, 2001 AMD just released its new Athlon XP processor, running at 1.6GHz, claiming to be as fast, if not faster, than Intel's P4 chip. In my own benchmarks, independently conduncted by myself and friends, shows than the 1900+ Athlon XP runs almost 3 times as fast as the Pentium4 2.0 GHz. We clocked up the p4, hard to do BTW, to 2.2GHz and the XP still beat it in all 5 benchmarks. Gaming (Max Payne), Photo Editing, Gaming 2 (Quake 3), Web Surfing and Burn In's.
