905punk
So i recently installed Slackware 10.2 (dual booting Slackware/XP) and for the most part it runs well. Cept i dont have any sound whatsoever. I've downloaded, configured and compiled ALSA 1.0.10 and also installed Swaret 1.6.2-1 (very usefull tool i might add- all Slackware users should grab it) I'm fairly sure ive got a AC97 (via82xx) Intregrated sound card, but i could double check that when im under Windows. Anywho any suggestions would be much appreciated...
Malbojia
did you try to run lsmod to see if the onboard sound module was already loaded. Also if i'm not mistaken is alsa set to run at the boot like any other deamon. Thats all I can come up on the top of my head. Will look into the matter. musta ruhtinas
Are you sure it's ALSA? I have a similar problem (updated recently to version 10.2), but I am able to play sounds in XMMS and mplayer. In my case it's arts that doesn't seem to work properly... I'm looking through docs right now but so far no luck.
