Problem with WMP9 (Corona)

Question

The problem I am having with WMP9 is when I play a song the player will freeze, maybe 1 min. into the song, but the music will continue to play as if nothing has happened. Once frozen I must right click it in the task bar and click close, then a mgs says "Program is not responding."I then click "ok", WPM9 closes and the computer is ready to go This only happens in one profile. My main profile it works fine with no hitches.

Computer profile:

Epox 8ka3+

AMD XP 1700+

512mb corsair mem.

ATI 7000

Sound blaster live 5.1

Win XP pro

when i try to play a .wmv file i get this:

Error ID = 0xC00D119D, Condition ID = 0x00000000

(Windows Media Player cannot play this file because the associated Windows Media metafile playlist is not valid.)

but WMP8 still plays it no problems.

Error Code = 0xc00d1068, Condition = 115

thats another error code for the same type of file.. still no play... plays everything else though.. just not .wmvs and i notice the 'stream name' it wont play is : "video 2"

so.. M$... if ur watchin... ur fantastic corona dont play fantastic all the time   .. heh.. and it's wmv's that aren't working

anyone got an idea to resolve this ?

Yeah, i don't get that tho but it's part of of WMP9. It's to stop the illegal spreading of MP3s. So when you download MP3s from MSN or places like that you get a license with it (i think) or it could just be a beta bug that affected you.

hmm thats interesting... does it disable the file so you can't play it in another player ??

the problems i'm getting with wmv's NOT playing are predominantly with music videos so far....

one thing i forgot to say is that windows media player 6.4 still plays the ones that wmp 9 wont...

hmm i dont like the way this is going... sounds like wmp9 is intervening in our playback... me wonders.....:ponder:

I dont think MP3's support license - only M$ $h!t does. These geeks are obsessed with license. If you get this, then you gotta get the license

Ok let's do this nice and slowly... repeat after me "This is unreleased software" :p

Just kidding... sorta.

I've yet to have any issues such as that in WMP9 under any of the builds. However I did have an issue under Winamp when playing WMA files, where the playback would stop and I would get an open browser window with some information on WMA plugins. Anyhow, WMP9 is unreleased (not even beta) software so don't start landblasting Microsoft for any problems with it.

OK, dont do the 'Find Album Info' option for music. I did and it renamed the files correctly, but then I went to play a different album and found it had renamed ALL my 2000 mp3's to the same album over and over. So now I have lots of work to do sorting them out. Anyone else had this problem?
