BigPaul2006
today i worked on a friends laptop which all of a sudden decided to stop booting. it said "load needed DLLs for kernel" so i stuck in the xp pro cd and did a reinstall of only the /windows folder (didnt format) and it started working again except for 1 exception. whenever it goes to his desktop, i get a registry error and it apparently cant find clb.dll i found this file thru google but i would just like to know: 1. what caused this mess in the 1st place, i did a complete reformat the previous week and he didnt install any software 2. where do i stick clb.dll 3. why wasnt clb.dll fixed along w/ the other .dll's? thanks guys

ninjagowoowoo
did you also reinstall SP2? I think that it is usually implemented by windows updates. See link bellow. http://www.programchecker.com/file/3111.aspx do a google for the file (just use the filename) and you can find it on dllworld or something like that.
