Now Avast. In the past, I'd use InoculateIT and it was a tight lightweight AV.

Yeh same. In its hayday, was a great AV. Started to go downhill a bit.

Trend Micro Pc Cillin 2003 - Been a avid user of this product for some time, very lil impact on the system. However the heuristics dont exist on this, so you have to rely on the latest sig files.

Nod32 - Is my current AV. Had it installed for couple days and got it how i want itand does what i want. Very lil impact/overhead and decent speed scanner. Heuristics included of course and has won the most awards.

Tried Symantec, McAfee, Panda, F-Secure, F-Prot, Bit Defender and few others but i think the above Trend Micro Pc Cillin takes my 2nd prize for now and Nod32 is the winner.

This thread is pretty pathetic. First, it is the millionth thread of its kind...use teh search. Second, you don't even have a good selection of AV progs. Third, how many do you use at the same time???what kind of question is that?.

and just because majority of people on here use NOD32 doesn't make it fanboyism, it makes a statement that NOD32 is a very worthy AV option.

For the record, i use nod32

Symantec Antivirus Corporate 9 runs soft and uses on my DELL lappy only around 4MB

when opening the application itself that uses around 8MB.

I am a Eset NOD32 partner so I tend to use the product! I have used all the others at various times and I am of the opinion that NOD32 is pretty damn good!

Eset NOD32 takes 36th VB100% award! 06 February 2006 Yet again, Eset NOD32 remains world record holder, with 36 Virus Bulletin 100% awards. :)

By the way it is never a good thing to run more than one antivirus on your PC! It can cause severe problems!

As I am on a linux box i odn't use anything. Though I own norton 2006 and that because it easy for my family members to use as they are dumb and stupid. And you really don't need a virius program IMO if your careful and don't d/l illegal things.

Personally I'd use NOD32

I use Bitdefender and works great :D

And to all that says that u cant run to antivirus software at the same time, hell yeah u can...

The only problem is that if u have active "on acces" file scanning in both programs they will scan eachothers files untill they die. So if u wanna us more antivirus software u could put the other av softwares files to exclusion for the other av software.

But your performance wouldn't be that good with 2 so 1 is what I go for
