I am sorry...

I wanna get the image from NTOSKRNL.EXE, just like what i did in Windows 2000, but i've failed, since the image are chopped into pieces and it's tough to group them into the original one...

You mean the nice startup image, yea that's in the NTOSKRNL.EXE file, you can use the ResHacker to get that out. I presume you have looked at the LittleWhiteDog site, just checked and I cannot seem to get to it... But I have a copy saved if you want. This is doc's that show you how to change the Win2000 screen, and you can apply this to WinXP.

Or are you refeering to the main logon screen, that's easy to do!

If you are refering to the bitmap resource images that is in exe, dll, or other resource file, then I suggest you use eXeScope... This is the best resource image extractor by far...

eXeScope is shareware, $20, and I used it for the most part (bought long ago for my work), until I found ResHacker, am very happy with this progtram now, which is now up to 3.2.8.

Both eXeScope and ResHacker have their merits, but my vote goes to ResHacker, as it's free and very well done.

eXeScope 6.00 can be downloaded from http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA003525/EXESC600.ZIP

ResHack 3.2.8 is available from http://delphi.icm.edu.pl/ftp/tools/ResHack.zip

ResHacker 3.2.8, 16 June 2001

http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker/

FREEWARE utility to view, modify,

add and delete resources in Win32 executables.

Incorporates an internal resource compiler and

decompiler. Works on both Win9x and WinNT.

eXeScope 6.00, 2000/7/02

http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA003525/emysoft.htm#6

Do you want to customize an application ? For example,

to change font, to change menu, to change an arrangement

of dialog, etc., but do you think that it is impossible

because you have not source files ?

eXeScope can analyze, display various information, and

rewrite resources of executable files, that is, EXE, DLL,

OCX, etc. without source files.
